Who We Are
Camp Honor was started in 2024 by Matt Simmons, a career firefighter and United States Navy veteran. Through 28 years of serving his country and community, he has seen first-hand the effects of PTSD on those who serve their communities. In his experience, there has been very limited resources available to help with PTSD, along with a stigma for those who seek traditional assistance. Through his own journey, Matt found that through his foundations of faith, family, and hunting, he was able to unintentionally build tools for resilience. He now wants to share those tools for those who have sacrificed so much.
Heroes
Camp Honor’s mission is to give back to the heroes who have sacrificed so much for our nation. It is our aim to prevent suicide and give tools to combat PTSD.
Hunting
Camp Honor was started to get our heroes into the outdoors to experience the healing power of nature.
Healing
By combining the outdoors and time with our experienced guides, our goal is to give tools to these heroes so they can start their healing journey. After each hunt, our heroes will be given resources and our volunteers will keep in contact to ensure our heroes stay on the healing path!
